Hi Heidi,
I schedule the classes as I get interested students and don’t have one on the calendar right now. If you can get two more friends interested we can schedule a class when it’s convenient for you, otherwise I will keep you posted when a beginner class comes up. I’ve held classes for home-schoolers and also had groups of ladies do a class just as a fun “moms day out.” Both work really well. Stay in touch and let me know what works for you.

Don’t you love how those rabbit trails lead to unexpected surprises? Glad you found me and my eggs and I’m glad you are learning the art of pysanky too. It’s such a quiet, contemplative art for me and I find I really need that in the midst of the busyness of life. Be sure to take photos of your eggs so you can watch your progress over the years. It’s amazing what a little practice and patience will yield. Have fun!

I stumbled upon your blog from following a link on Pinterest, which led to a different blog, which had a link to your blog.

I love your work! I am very new to pysanky, and just really learned how to do it this past fall. I’ve only had the chance to make 3-4 eggs so far, and of course they are not all that great, but I am still learning. I really enjoy pysanky and find it quite relaxing.

I am on Spring Break right now, and about to sit down and create some more pysanky today. I will be back to visit again!

Nice designs and sharp colours. I would like to know what you use as a varnish. I’ve been using regular wood varnish, which can be quite yellow. I’ve been given three goose and two ducks eggs this spring, I’m a bit worried about emptying them, although I’ve been told the duck eggs are prone to exploding if left intact.

Metaphors teach much, and your object lesson gives me much to think about! Deep, Dark layers in one’s life do not feel beautiful, they feel like a mess, they feel painful. It takes a loving God, a patient God, to quietly and continually show us what beautiful things He has done with the painful things. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
